Five people sustained minor injuries after an explosion at a  strip mall in Mississauga Sunday.
Emergency crews were called to a business at about 7:30 a.m. on the west side of Hurontario St., just north of Dundas St.
One man was taken to hospital and two other men, a woman and a child were treated at the scene, said Mississauga Fire Chief Tim Beckett.
“When crews arrived, three people had made it to the roof (where they were reduced),” Beckett said.
Two men made their way out.
Beckett said the unknown type of explosion damaged gas lines and fire crews will be working on the scene until at least sometime Monday.
“We don’t know what type of explosion this is,” Beckett said.
When the scene is deemed safe, cadaver dogs will be deployed to determine if anyone else was in the damaged buildings.
