AT least seven people have been shot as a gunman opened fire on a packed market tonight.
Police have launched a major operation after a dramatic shooting in Trelleborg, Sweden, at about 10.30pm today.
Officers were called to the Ehrenbuschsgatan area of the city in the south of the country, near Malmo and Denmark.
They found multiple people injured in different locations after what appears to be a shooting in the market there.
Pictures show armed police at the scene.
Neighbours report seeing someone “running outside” at the time.
The shooting occurred in a residential area with large family houses, shops and green spaces.
Police have blocked off a large area of the town and a large number of ambulances have been called in.
Police spokesman Fredrik Bratt said: “We get calls from several people who have heard shots in central Trelleborg.
“When we get there we found several people who were injured in a few different places.”
