It’s easy to see that there is a very good chance that your personal information has gotten into the hands of hackers at some point over the last decade.
IT security is a game of cat and mouse, no amount of legislation is ever going to completely eliminate data breaches, whether that would be in the form of increased punishments for hackers, or an increase in penalties for companies that get hacked. In many cases, it’s hard to blame businesses who fall victim to a 0 day exploit, especially when their cybersecurity efforts are robust.
