Police were called to the area around the Westfield shopping centre in Stratford, east London, following reports of a group of males spraying what appeared be a “noxious substance”.
The police have said that an altercation between two groups of males took place inside Stratford Shopping Centre led to a noxious substance being thrown.
When the liquid was thrown the groups dispersed and some ran into Stratford station.
The Metropolitan Police told BuzzFeed News they were called just before 8 p.m. to the Stratford shopping area and said that six people are believed to have been injured in different locations.
Chief Superintendent Ade Adelekan, borough commander for Newham said that upon closer inspection they found that the injuries were all tied to the one incident involving two groups of males.
