Vladimir Shcherbakov, the businessman involved in BVA-Bank’s case about over 10 billion rubles illegally siphoned off from Russia, died in London, the Republic reported citing Shcherbakov’s acquaintance. According to him, the businessman committed suicide.
British authorities could not confirm or refute the reports saying they do not have enough information.
Shcherbakov had been on the international wanted list in the BVA-Bank’s case, but then the information was removed from Interpol’s website. We should remind that the Ministry of Internal Affairs dismissed the case of 10 billion rubles siphoned off from Russia as fictitious contracts for the supply of Goznak products for lack of evidence on July 3.
According to the Republic, despite being in UK, Shcherbakov was still involved in Russian business.
