The iconic Louvre museum in Paris was dramatically evacuated amid heightened terrorist threats against tourist hotspots.
But despite the brief panic, visitors have now been allowed back inside the legendary landmark which is home to Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa.
Earlier, Kathy Skipper posted a picture on Twitter showing hundreds of people gathered outside the museum’s distinctive glass pyramid entrance.
She tweeted: “Just evacuated from The Louvre. Just part of that Paris experience, I suppose.”
Another Twitter user posted: “Inside @MuseeLouvre now and heard an alarm asking all visitors to evacuate “as a security protocol”. What happened?”
Meanwhile, twelve people have been hurt, including six police officers, after a Molotov cocktail was thrown into a restaurant north of Paris on Sunday.
Two victims were badly burned in the attack, with the restaurant then gutted by the fire reportedly started by the petrol bomb.
According to Infos Francaises, six of those injured were police officers.
