Now Iceland’s president, Gudni Thorlacius Johannesson, has shared is own views on the pizza debate during a visit to a high school in northern Iceland, according to reports.
The politician made it clear just how much he despises the Hawaiian pizza by joking it should be outlawed, the Iceland Magazine reports.
After a discussion with pupils about the school’s famous alumni, Johannesson’s visit reached a light-hearted conclusion when he answered questions from students about pizza and football.
He revealed his favourite Premier League team is Manchester United before entering the pizza debate, reportedly replying he is fundamentally opposed to the idea of pineapple on pizza and joked he would be keen on outlawing the Hawaiian toppings for good.
